Sista Shena started singing in the Youth choir at Faith Temple in Chicago. In third grade she was threatened with failing and not going on to the next grade. She had scored low on the Iowa test reading portion. Her Mom had her in church and she believed that God could do anything.

Her Mom went to the principal and asked what would have to happen for Shena to go to the next grade. The Principal said that she has a 2.8 Iowa test score. She needs a 4.0 and that’s impossible so there is nothing you can do. Her Mother said if she goes to summer school and scores a 4.0 will you allow her to go to the next grade? The Principle said, absolutely but that will never happen ……..

Shena went to summer school that summer and the night before the Iowa test she was in a prayer meeting and her mother had forgotten the test was the next day but Shena didn’t. As tears streamed down her face she prayed to God if he would allow her to pass she would never forget him and would believe that he could do anything forever.

The school year began, the Principal called her Mother into her office. She said I can’t believe this Shena got a 4.0 exactly! That was the beginning of her faith she has never forgotten God and believes he can do anything.

The first Single: Behind the Scenes was given to Sista Shena by God. She says: the songs that you will hear were delivered directly from God as many of them I woke out of my sleep and started writing so I can’t take credit. It’s all Jesus!

Sista Shena explains: God can truly touch your heart through song. Music is not just singing it’s a ministry; when you need encouragement and you don’t have access to your favorite preacher God can use a song to say exactly what you need to hear.
Shena Studied Piano with Ms. Mary Parker through childhood and learned to play and read music. Shena is a member of Family Christian Center in Munster Indiana. She has studied Voice under Elsa Harris, Harris House of Music for several years. The Songwriting ability comes directly from God! Praise Jesus!
